Last Thursday we were thrilled to welcome award-winning poet Matt Goodfellow to our school. Matt brought electric energy to his session, inspiring our P6 and P7 pupils to see poetry in a whole new way.
He reminded everyone that poetry doesn’t have to be complicated - it can simply be about the things that matter most to us. Matt performed some of his own work and shared readings from The Final Year, with every pupil receiving their own signed copy to take home!
We also received a fantastic bundle of Matt’s other books for our class libraries.
Our pupils then got the chance to write their own poems - no rules, no pressure, just honest thoughts and creative ideas. They left feeling confident, empowered, and knowing that their voices matter.
